This course introduces learners to the key principles, rights, and obligations under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019. Across five modules, learners will explore the foundations of data protection, the core principles and data subject rights, how data protection applies to daily operations in financial services, the human factors behind most data breaches, and how to detect, respond to, and report an incident when one occurs. The course draws on real enforcement cases from the Kenyan market to illustrate the practical consequences of non-compliance, and is designed for employees across banking, insurance, payments, and digital lending who handle personal data as part of their daily work.
